During May-July 2016 and May-July 2017,we investigated the bird community composition of 5 different eco-environment types in central Inner Mongolia. We analyzed the relationship between bird diversity and environmental and climatic factors in different eco-environment types. Moreover, the niche of dominant species and common species of summer birds in central Inner Mongolia was analyzed. The results are as follows:A total of 110 species of birds belonging to 14 orders,33 families and 68 genera were recorded.Among them,74 were summer resident birds,17 resident birds,and15 migrant birds. In term of the avifauna, the Palaerarctic birds are the most. The breeding birds are mainly belonging to the northern group, and there are multiple components that penetrate.11 species are listed in the second category of the nationally protected wildlife species in China. The analysis of G-F index of different habitats of bird communities revealed that in the wetland of arid areas, the G-F index was highest(0.5833),and in semi-aridareas typical grassland the G-F index(0.0623)was lowest. The ? diversity analysis of different habitat birds found that the Shannon diversity index(2.6462)and richness index(7.3941)were highest in the wetland of arid areas, and the Pielou index(0.7733)was highest in transitional areas desert steppe. In arid areas desert steppe the Simpson advantage index was highest(0.3301).Decompose the S?rensen and Jaccard dissimilarity indexes in different ways,we find that the spatial turnover components and the species replacement components occupy relatively large proportions in different habitats, implying that the ecological protection strategies in the central Inner Mongolia region should be of a wide range.Analysing the relationship between abundance, biomass, diversity of bird and temperature, humidity, altitude, wind speed, and grass height on grasslands,we found that temperature and grassland bird diversity and abundance are positively correlated. And there is a clear positive correlation between biomass and grass heights. The ecological niche breadth of dominant species and common species of summer birds in central Inner Mongolia are relatively low,and the use of bird food resources and survival and reproduction space is relatively uniform and less competitive.
