Plant growthing is a complex process involving many external environmental factors and many gene expressions in organisms.In the complex and changeable natural environment,the growthing of plants is often threatened by various environmental factors,such as drought,high/low temperature,uv and salt,and other abiotic stresses.Fungi,bacteria,pests and plant competitive growth and other biological stresses.In eukaryotic organisms,response to amino acid starvation is mainly involved in the regulation mechanism of GCN(general control non-derepressible)system related proteins to respond to stress.For example,in yeast cells,when the amino acid is deficient,the empty t RNA accumulates in a large number,and then,combined with the GCN2 in the ribosome,the GCN1-GCN20 complex in the ribosome activates GCN2,the kinase of e IF2?.GCN2 activates the phosphorylation block of the translation initiation factor e IF2? to inhibit protein synthesis.In arabidopsis thaliana,there is also a GCN system,which is closely homologous to the yeast protein,to participate in the regulating process of protein expression.Among them,At GCN20 in arabidopsis and GCN20 in yeast cells are a pair of homologous proteins,which had good reference value for the study of GCN20 in arabidopsis.Overexpress the GCN20 of yeast and arabidopsis thaliana in the Arabidopsis gcn20 mutant respectively..From the results of the study,Through subsequent experiments,the seedling leaves of gcn20 mutant were yellowed under low temperature treatment.Moreover,we observed that the leaves of the gcn20 mutant seedlings were yellowed in about 4 weeks.At the same time,the seed germination rate of gcn20 mutant seeds was significantly reduced when subjected to various stresses(Abscisic Acid,ABA,high salt,osmotic and amino Acid starvation).The germination rate of the seeds was restored to the wild-type level when the At GCN20 was overexpressed in the gcn20 mutant.To sum up,At GCN20 may respond to various stresses by participating in the initiation pathway of protein translation.
