It was found that the heterogeneity of soil nutrient is generally existed in the space, and changed with the time. The distribution areas of the clonal plants are in different nutrient patches. The differences of nutrient could diversify physiological characteristics of the plant. The clonal plant could carry out physiological integration to the nutrient heterogeneity through the connected stolon, which could have a quite important effect on the growth of the clonal plant. The research about effects of differences in soil nutrient on the physiological properties of the clonal plants is unique, and also provides theoretical basis for the study of the clonal plant physiological integration.Using clonal plant Zoysiagrass as the research material, both the parent ramet and the offspring ramet were designed to connected and disconnected states. The five treatments are as follows:the low nutrient of the parent ramet and the offspring ramet?CK?,the low nutrient of the parent ramet and the medium nutrient of the offspring ramet?LM?,the low nutrient of the parent ramet and the high nutrient of the offspring ramet?LH?,the medium nutrient of the parent ramet and the low nutrient of the offspring ramet?ML?,the high nutrient of the parent ramet and the low nutrient of the offspring ramet?HL?.Each treatment was repeated three times. The nutrient heterogeneity was set high?7.085 g NH4NO3,2.063 g NaH2PO4 and 2.368 g KCL?,medium?20%of high nutrient concentration?and low?same volume of distilled water?level. The growth indicators, the change of the endogenous hormone?IAA,SA,ABA?and the organic acid?oxalic acid, tartaric acid, malic acid, lactic acid, acetic acid, citric acid, succinic acid and fumaric acid?content in Zoysiagrass leaves under different nutrient conditions were compared, and the effects of the nutrient heterogeneity on Zoysiagrass growth and physiological characteristics were studied. The main results are as follows:1.For the plant height, aboveground biomass and chlorophyll content, while the parent ramet is in high nutrient, the increasing extent of the parent ramet in the connected treatment is less than that in the disconnected treatment, and the increasing extent of the offspring ramet in the connected treatment is more than that in the disconnected treatment. It might be explained that when the parent ramet is in high nutrient and the offspring ramet in low nutrient, the parent ramet can transfer the resource to the offspring ramet through the connected stolon, and carry on the physiological integration. For the plant height and biomass, when the offspring ramet is in high nutrient whereas connected parent ramet in low nutrient, there is basically no change between the connected parent ramet and the disconnected parent ramet, because of the directional of the physiological integration.2.For the Zoysiagrass leaves IAA content and SA content, when the parent ramet is in high nutrient and the offspring ramet in low nutrient, nutrient can transfered from the parent ramet to the the offspring ramet by the connected stolon for achieving physiological integration.Only if the offspring ramet is in high nutrient and the parent ramet in low nutrient, physiological integration of the offspring ramet to the connected parent ramet could be achieved. When the offspring ramet is in medium nutrient and parent ramet in low nutrient, the offspring ramet didn't share resource with connected parent ramet.ABA content in all treatments declined in some different degrees, and the reduced extent in disconnected offspring ramet under high nutrient was the largest. There is no physiological integration phenomenon.3.As the parent ramet is in high nutrient and the offspring ramet in low nutrient, the discrepancies in the offspring ramet's content of oxalic acid, tartaric acid, acetic acid, malic acid and succinic acid in the connection treatment and the CK were higher than those in the disconnection treatment, and the discrepancies in the parent ramet's content of succinic acid, tartaric acid, fumaric acid, citric acid and lactic acid in the connection treatment and the CK were less than those in the disconnection treatment. This suggests that when the connected parent ramet is in high nutrient and the offspring ramet in low nutrient, and the offspring ramet could benefit from the connected parent ramet to meet its own growth. When the offspring ramet is in relatively high nutrient yet the parent ramet in low nutrient, only if the discrepancy in the content of the oxalic acid in the coneection treatment and the CK is less than that in the disconnection treatment, the other seven changes of content of acids show that the offspring ramet do not carry out physiological integration to the connected parent ramet.
