Water resources are the fundamental natural resources and an important part of the living environment of human beings.Meanwhile,water is one important strategic economic resources and an integral part of a country's overall national strength.The distribution of water resource in China is extremely disequilibrium.In the past years,Chinese government published and implemented the latest environmental protection laws and regulations,whose demand is also increasing.And the supervision from national and local environmental protection management agencies is becoming more stringent.Chinese government encourages all enterprises and people to save energy and to use resources efficiently,of course,no exception with the efficient use of water resources.The demands of clients on environmental protection management of their vendors in the supply chain(whether direct supplier or indirect supplier)are rising continuously.It is fierce the competition between enterprises in the same industry.In order to stand out of the industry,one enterprise must be excellent at management besides excellent technology,also it depends on technological innovation and management improvement constantly,and then it will not be eliminated by the market and may lead the development of his industry.It is electroplating the main value-added process in electronics manufacturing industry,and the quality of electroplating directly determines the market position of products,electroplating is the core of the enterprise,so the electroplating management and technology innovation become the key of electronics companies to reduce costs and improve business efficiency.This paper aimed to improve the utilization rate of electroplating water resources in TaiE Ltd.First of all,it introduced the background and significance of the study,elaborate the research of water resources management at domestic and abroad,and related requirements of laws and regulations.Secondly,it introduced the current situations and existing problems of electroplating water resources(including electroplating process and water treatment process)and management of electroplating in TaiE Ltd,i.e.,low water reuse rate,less than 50%;the capacity of water treatment system was almost full;management of waste water treatme nt was not really integrated to company's system management;the control of electroplating wastewater discharge does not only focus on the concentration of pollution factors,also focus on the benchmark effluent volume per unit area product and the total emission;some chemical was not good to environment.The design scheme of improvement was based on current situation and the existing problems identified,then analyzed and assessed the feasibility of schemes.At last,the paper had a brief statement on implementation guarantee of the scheme from capital,personnel,technology,bath maintenance and so on,and analyzed the effectiveness of the implemented programs.The research results of this paper are the optimization of electroplating process and the promotion of core competiveness of TaiE Ltd,and it did improve the utilization rate of electroplating water resources,but also reduced the amount of fresh water used,decreased the amount of sewage treatment and discharge of waste water.Consequently,it built TaiE Ltd a solid foundation of profits increase and long-term sustainable development,also rescued and improved the reputation of the company at environmental protection.This successful case provides a good demonstration for other departments in TaiE Ltd to improve efficiency and productivity,also other electronics manufacturing companies can learn from this case to improve the efficiency and benefits of electroplating management.
