Study On The Project Management Of Poyang Lake Geographic Survey

Poyang Lake is china's largest freshwater lake and an important production field of commodity grain,cotton,oil,and so on.As the largest lake flowing into the river in the Yangtze River Basin,and an important ecological zones delineated by the World Wild Fund for Nature(WWF),Poyang Lake plays such an important role in many aspects such as economy development,the ecological balance,regulation in water conservancy,and so on.However,in recently years,with the rapid growth of the population,the development of economy and the accelerated process of urbanization,Poyang Lake is facing more and more serious problems,such as water pollution and degradation of wetland.Under such circumstance,the project about the basic geographic survey of Poyang Lake came into being.The paper has employed the method of looking up literatures,comparison research and analysing cases to determine the essence of project management on the basic of reading lots of literatures.Three aspects,namely cost,schedule and quality,of the project management are studied here.First,we discussed the concerning theory and method about the project cost management,project schedule management and project quality management.At the same time,we have also pointed some insufficiency or characteristics of this project management.Then,we analysed some general factors which affected the management to cost,project schedule and quality of this management.We also introduced some methods to control the cost,schedule and quality of the basic geographic survey.Furthermore,we evaluated the performance of the five corporations include in the project by the application of methods,some quantitative and Analytic Hierarchy Process(AHP).The result indicated that the performance of Middle provincial Flood control and Information Center is the highest while the Jiangxi Water Resource Planning and Design Institute is the lowest.It is the first time to conduct a comprehensive geographical survey in large river's or lake's basin in China,and it is not reported in a foreign country.Therefore,Study on the project management of such survey is the innovation and characteristic of this research.This study is not only the supplement of the present theory about the project management,but also analysed and summarized the experience and problems about the project in all aspects.It can be refered by the basic geographic measurement project of other large lakes.
