Empirical Analysis Of Income Inequality Between Urban And Rural And The Research On Countermeasures In Lianyungang

Because of reform and opening in nearly 40 years,China’s comprehensive national strength has been significantly enhanced,and the economic and social development in all parts of the country has been developing rapidly.However,the income of rural residents is far less than the income of urban residents,that is a short board which cannot be ignored.To a certain extent,income gap between urban and rural residents affects society justice and the realization of an all-round well-off society.Promoting the coordinated development of urban and rural residents’ income is worthy of attention and research by every local government.Lianyungang is an underdeveloped city in a developed province,this article based on the background of Lianyungang,has its own uniqueness and universality for similar three or four line cities.In the study,we collect the income statistical data of urban and rural residents from 1985 to 2016 in Lianyungang,mainly use comparative study method to analysis on the income and the income gap between urban and rural residents in Lianyungang.It compares urban residents and rural residents’ income change trajectory in Lianyungang by using the longitudinal and lateral analysis,and compares with the national average level and the average level of Jiangsu province.It compares the income gap between urban and rural residents,the difference of income structure,the gap of consumption level and the difference of living standard,and compares the income gap between urban and rural residents with the national average level,the average level of Jiangsu province,and the other cities in Jiangsu province.The income of urban residents in Lianyungang is higher than that of rural residents.The income of urban and rural residents is at the lower level in Jiangsu province,and is near the national average level.The income gap between urban and rural residents is slightly better than the national average,and is relatively obvious in the Jiangsu province.The study selected economic variables on the income gap between urban and rural residents in Lianyungang from the perspective of government policy as the influencing factors,and carry out in-depth empirical analysis using Eviews software to establish multiple linear econometric regression model.According to the coefficient of various explanatory variables,the dualistic structure coefficient,the proportion of the third industry,the proportion of social security and employment expenditure,the proportion of agricultural expenditure and the efficiency of financial development have significant impact on reducing the income ratio of urban and rural residents in Lianyungang.Finally,from the perspective of four sources of income,it is pointed out that the government can steadily increase the income of farmers and improve the income gap between urban and rural residents.Promote the full employment and increase the wage income by developing the third industry of the city and increasing the employment posts in the countryside.Promote the development of agriculture by guiding the agricultural development and improving the efficiency of agricultural production.Strengthen the financial insurance by adjusting the public expenditure and strengthening tax supervision.Increase property income by transferring farmer’s real estate and land,developing rural financial market.
