| Since Miller(1983)proposed the concept of Corporate Entrepreneurship.Academic circles in the mid 1980 s and the end of the 1990 s set off two research booms of it.They regarded the corporate entrepreneurship as the main method of inspiring innovation and building the long-term competitive advantage.By the research of the concept,levels,features,performances of the corporate entrepreneurship,They initially constructed the theory system of the corporate entrepreneurship.In the field of the management,the Institutional Theory is uesd by organizational and strategic management,innovation and entrepreneurship,management of international business.The inchoate institutional theory emphasized the influence of institutional environment on organizational behaviors.With the development of academic research in related fields,Scholars found that the institutional isomorphism can not explain why different organizational behaviors and strategies were heterogeneity in the same institutional pressure.So they paid more attention to the reverse effect and initiative behavior of organizations since the 1990 s.In the background of China’s economic and social transformation,the enterprise has to face frequent changes in the institutional environment normally.Therefore,Institutional Theory has become an important theoretical tool to explain the law of enterprise behaviors and activities.The scholars tried to introduce the Institutional Theory into the research of corporate entrepreneurship,and explored the influence of institutional environment on entrepreneurial activities from different perspectives.From the investigation,the author found that the adjustment was an important action in the corporate entrepreneurship throughout the entire process of Corporate Entrepreneurship.It was the key to promote the company’s entrepreneurial process,closely related to the internal and external institutional environment.However,few scholars focus on the adjustment behaviors in corporate entrepreneurship.Therefore,the author tries to focus on the following research questions: Firstly,what is the content of the adjustment in corporate entrepreneurship and which levels are involved.Secondly,what are the motivations of the adjustment in corporate entrepreneurship.What is the role of institutional pressure? Thirdly,what are the features of the adjustment in corporate entrepreneurship and what factors could decide the features.Fourthly,the features could cause what results.In order to answer the above questions,the author uses the tracing case study method to comparatively study the process of the two entrepreneurship projects in the X group and gets the conclusions from the four perspectives: Firstly,the content of the adjustment in the corporate entrepreneurship involves strategic planning,organizational personnel,business strategy,operational arrangements.Moreover,two or more levels of content are often present in each adjustment.Secondly,the pressure from employees,executives and other subsidiaries within the group,other stakeholders of the internal system and the pressure from the government,customers,peers,other stakeholders external institutional pressures are likely to become the motivations of adjustment in the corporate entrepreneurship.From the perspective of the type of the legitimacy pressure,the regulatory pressure,the normative pressure,the cognitive pressure and the pragmatic pressure appear in the process of the corporate entrepreneurship.Therefore,the intention of the adjustment is responding to the demands of stakeholders in the institutional environment and achieve legalization of corporate entrepreneurship.Thirdly,the features of corporate entrepreneurship include frequent,tendency,arbitrary.The characteristics of the institutional environment,the inequality of the power structure and the personal experience of the entrepreneurs affect the features of the adjustment behavior.The characteristics of institutional environment and entrepreneur’s personal experience affect the characteristics of frequent.The characteristics of the institutional environment and the inequality of the power structure affect the characteristics of the tendency.Entrepreneur’s personal experience and the inequality of the power structure affect the characteristics of arbitrary.Fourthly,the frequency directly affects the adjustment cost and knowledge accumulation,and then affect the entrepreneur’s future expectations for the corporate entrepreneurship projects.Tendency directly affects the level of pragmatic legitimacy,and then affect the entrepreneur’s future expectations for the corporate entrepreneurship projects.Arbitrariness directly affects the level of the cognitive legitimacy,and then affect the entrepreneur’s future expectations for the corporate entrepreneurship projects.The innovation points include the focusing on adjustment and the expectation of corporate entrepreneurship,as well as the description of the interaction between the entrepreneur and the institutional environment. |
