Research On Inventory Management Of Y Company Under ERP Environment

Inventory refers to finished goods hold for sale in business operation,or goods still in production line,or material would be consumed in production process or service provided.Inventory reflects the situation of corporate current assets,because not only it occupies a large proportion,but also it has lower liquidity.Setting up a scientific,regulatory,rigorous inventory management system,which can makea scientific,automatic,systematic inventory management,but also improves the working efficiency.So strengthen the inventory management,not only starts from the corporate management institution and management method,but also with the help of modern Information Technology.Through IT,we can make collection,summarization and analyzation of information quickly,to provide the managers of enterprise sufficient information to make quick and efficient actions.Therefore,the high integrated and moden ERP system will become an effective tool for inventory management.This thesis,based on Y Company as the researching case,combing the theory of inventory management,then introduce Y Company how to use the ERP system to inventory management,sum up experience and deficiency in practice,then suggest how to further improve the ERP system of inventory management.This article's main research parts are as below:Firstly,the thesis describes the background and significance,research status,research ideas and innovation;and introduces the basic concept of ERP&inventory and theoretical definition of method of inventory management.Secondly,introduces the 'basic situation of Y Company,and describe the related module of inventory,purchas:ing module,stocking module,production module and distribution module.Then the thesis sums up the experience and points out the deficiency of Y Company.And the thesis makes suggestion to the inventory management of Y Company:how to improve the key users of ERP,optimize the Purchasing module and production module.Through the further development of ERP function,we do believe we can find the best blue print of business operation.The last part is conclusion and expectation.How to find the effective information management system,from the root to solve the inventory problem of automotive parts industry and other manufacturing industry,is a meaningful issue.Accompanied by the development of IT,integrated ERP system will be widely used.ERP system is not only making good control of inventory management,but also reducing hand operation,advancing working efficiency.The ERP system prevents and controls business risks,and reduces labor cost,pushes business performance increasing effectively.
