Schultz in his classic theory of human capital takes individuals and families to adapt to the migration of employment opportunities as an important form of human capital investment. The impact of this migration on the level of human capital is mainly through two forms:one is spontaneous investment, which is to adapt to the needs of migrant workers, driven by the expected high return on human capital;the second is the subtle influence, which is brought by local social and economic development. For rural residents, this migration is mainly manifested as the transfer of labor force from rural to urban areas, and a large number of studies have shown that the rural labor force of the rural-urban transfer is conducive to improving the rural residents of human capital level. From the reality of China's rural population development,on one hand, the rural population's overall human capital level is increasing;on the other hand, the intergenerational optimization of the rural population is a clear trend, that is,the new generation has higher Human capital level than the old generation. At the same time, urbanization is the way to modernization, and promoting urbanization is an essential approach to solve the problems of agriculture, rural areas and farmers. With the development of economy,China's urbanization level has entered a stage of sustained and rapid development. The research and implementation of deepening the reform of household registration system, promoting the equalization of basic services, accelerating the development of small and medium-sized cities and special towns and other policies, will make a large number rural people who have moved to cities become the main contribution of urbanization. However, there is a huge difference in the level of urbanization development faced by different intergenerational rural migrants, and their own human capital levels are different for rural migrants living at different levels of urbanization. The existing research focus on rural human capital focuses on the impact of urbanization on the level of human capital in rural areas, while there is little research on the change of human capital level between generations. If the inevitable development trend of rural population is intergenerational optimization, then what role does urbanization play in it?This question constitutes the subject of this paper.Focusing on this topic, this paper is divided into five parts to study this issue.Chapter 1 introduces the research background, the research significance, the research frame, and so on;Chapter 2 is the combing and brief comment on the related literature;Chapter 3 analyzes the urban and rural areas from the three aspects of demand effect, income effect and demonstration effect respectively The fourth part is the metrological analysis part of this paper, using panel data correlation analysis method to urbanization on rural population intergenerational optimization and its mechanism of empirical analysis, and the empirical results Analysis;Chapter 5 is policy recommendations.Through this study, the following conclusions can be drawn:The urbanization has a positive effect on the rural population intergenerational optimization, the urbanization level is increased by one percentage point, the rural population intergenerational optimization 0.06%,but the degree of influence there is a decreasing trend;Structural upgrading, employment structure adjustment, human capital return, human capital investment behavior of urban residents.and education policy are positive role in the rural population of intergenerational optimization.
