Research On Tourism Development Associated With Ethnic Minorities In Sapa Towards The Direction Of Sustainable Development

Tourism has become one of the important activities of human life.It brings considerable income for the world economy and has become one of the most important economic sectors.With the rapid development,tourism has become the economic base of some areas,especially to the ethnic minorities and the distant suburbs.Community tourism community is a unique cultural and natural resource-based experience to attract tourism to play a tourism development.With the large increase in the development and commercialization of guest protective many destinations,the development of local communities in the face of great challenges and other issues.The issue of sustainable tourism development has been cared by the world tourism industry in general and each county in particular.The countries are trying to find solutions for an optimal way of development in which all parties involved will be beneficial and ?meet the current needs without compromising to the future generations?.Especially,sustainable tourism development may create a golden opportunity for the developing and underdeveloping countries to reduce poverty and create jobs,improve the quality of life for the community,in which,tourism development in association with the community is considered as an effective solution.In recent years,Vietnam tourism industry has also been focused on community tourism development and sustainable development,particularly at some areas in which the community plays an important role in sustainable tourism development and are often home to many ethnic minorities such as Mai Chau(Hoa Binh),Ba Be(Bac Kan),Na Hang(Tuyen Quang)...These tourist destinations are diverse in natural tourism resources and rich in tourism resources of humanities which has attracted large number of tourists(especially international tourists)and naturally,tourism has also given a partly impact on the ethnic minorities' lives here.One of those attractions is Sapa(Lao Cai).Taking Sa Pa County Vietnam Lao Cai province as the research object.During the past years,Sapa tourism has grown rapidly along with tourism development of the country,even in the peak season,the capacity of Sapa becomes "overloaded".Besides the positive impact of tourism on the lives of ethnic minorities,there are still problems which go against the principles of sustainable development as: adverse impact of commercialization trend,the erosion of traditional cultural values,inequality in sharing the benefits,constructions which destroy the environment and landscape… that makes sustainable development issue becomes even more intense than ever.The first,I discussed its essence,and then SWOT analysis methods of analysis and proposed the development of the existing problems,combined with the final status of the county's proposed strategy and sustainable development of tourism in community.It is not only that for tourism because there are a growing number of people who desire to have opportunities for traveling.World Tourism Organization predicted that by 2020,there will be over 1500 international tourist arrivals,more than double the current number.Hence,Vietnam tourism in general and Sapa tourism in particular should also consider the plans to cope with the impact of tourism in sustainable development measures.For those reasons above,I have chosen the topic ?Research on tourism development associated with ethnic minorities in Sapa towards the direction of sustainable development? as a research topic for my thesis,provide a reference for the sustainable community-based tourism development elsewhere.
