Construction industry,as the pillar industry of national economy, has the characteristics of high energy consumption and environmental emission. On the purpose of analyzing ecological burden from constrction process and controling resource wastes from the beginning,eco-cost method is selected to study environmental problems in construction stage.Computing framework of eco-cost in engineering construction stage is built by clearing the scope of computing, operating steps, the basis of the need to collect data, its calculation method,as well as explaining the inherent meaning of the construction stage EVR model. On the basis of the practice in China and eco-cost calculation rules,eco-cost and EVR of some common kinds of energy, emissions and materials are calculated.According to EVR model, indirect eco-cost estimation method is proposed. And main building materials’ eco-cost during production and transportation is calculated based on the eco-cost data of energy and emission. With a detailed empirical analysis for a normal high-rise residential projects in Nanjing,a method to calculate the standard unit eco-cost by construction quota was introduced, and the total eco-cost and EVR for the project has been calculated,as well as the eco-cost component of each part and their corresponding EVR.And according to the distribution of eco-cost,the effective ways to reduce eco-cost has been discussed.Considering exsisting problems in the study, the paper put forward to establish domestic eco-cost database and eco-cost quota system,to expand the scope of the empirical study,to explore eco-cost law in engineering construction, and to induce the representative EVR data as the direction of future research.
