Research On The Relationship Between Insurance Cooperate Social Responsibility And Enterprise Performance

As "a people in the society",insurance companies need to attach importance to both social and ecologic benefits,while pursuing economic and shareholders' benefits,in order to ensure the responsibilities towards overall dimension.This theory has been recognized by both scholars and practitioners.However,scholars don't answer the questions of how to measure and evaluate the performance of an insurance company while conducting social responsibilities.Meanwhile,the theories about how Corporate Social Responsibilities will impact insurance companies also remain vacant.The thesis aims to study how Corporate Social Responsibilities of insurance companies impact companies' performance.To begin with,the thesis stated the concept of Corporate Social Responsibilities of insurance companies,and defined intension and extension of the concept.Then,the thesis analyzed theories of insurance companies' Corporate Social Responsibility.Based on these theories,the thesis focused on stakeholder's theory and determined indexes for different stakeholders,then it came up with a regression equation on assumptions.After the regression equation,the thesis consolidated and summarized 77 listed and no-listed insurance companies' financial data from 2011 to 2015,and reached to a conclusion about the relation of different stakeholders(shareholders,staff,customers,creditor,government,and society)towards companies' performance.Insurance Corporate Social Responsibility is positively related to company's performance overall.Shareholder,customers,and government are positively related significantly,creditor is positive but not significant while,while staff,and society are negatively related(significant).Based on this result,the thesis dig out for the further practical reasons,and came up with suggestions from society and enterprise views,regarding creating a sound social responsibility legal system,improve information disclosure mechanism,merge Corporate Social Responsibilities into strategically level,and build a stakeholder management mechanism.
