The Comparative Study On The Competitiveness Of Vietnam And Thailand Natural Rubber Exports To China

The stability and development of agriculture is an important foundation for the stability and development of a country's economy and society.Vietnam is a subtropical country,with rainfall,four distinct seasons,diverse soils,being conducive to the development of agricultural and forestry products such as rice,coffee,rubber,cashew nuts and so on.Meanwhile,rubber is the main economic crops,is currently one of the top ten export commodities in VietnamAfter 11 years from 2005 to 2015,Along with the steady growth of Vietnamese rubber industry,natural rubber exports has also been increasing year by year which made a huge contribution to the national economy.After the accession to the World Trade Organization(WTO),the value of vietnamese natural rubber exports has become the third largest among agricultural commodities in Viet Nam which reached nearly three billion dollars,accounting for 2.9%of total national export value.On the other hand,China is currently the largest importer of Vietnamese products and it has prompted a surge in demand for rubber imports from Vietnam since Chinese government scrapped the import limit for natural rubber in 01/01/2005.Moreover,the China automobile and motorcycle manufacturing industry have developed rapidly in the recent years while domestic rubber production in China have not met the demand along with the lower price which is one of the most advantage of Vietnamese rubber product,it's undoubtedly that China would become the most potential market of Viet Nam.In addition,China's natural rubber imports from Viet Nam currently rank second,only behind Thailand.However,because more than 90%of Vietnam's rubber output is exported in the form of rubber raw materials,it made exporting competitiveness of Vietnamese natural rubber products be completely disadvantage when compare with Thailand.Based on this above situation,the analysis of the reasons for the disparity between the competitiveness of natural rubber in Vietnam and Thailand is very important.Hence,the author who is a VietNamese student want to find out the recent advantages and disadvantages of Vietnam by researching the process of Vietnamese natural rubber exporting to China,from that could provide some corresponding measures in order to improve the Vietnamese natural rubber export competitiveness and lead Viet Nam to be able to become China's largest natural rubber importer.This article revolves around the status of the export competitiveness of Vietnamese and Thailand natural rubber to China.Its specific contents are:first,to establish a balance export competitiveness index system of comprehensive export competitiveness on the basis of relevant theory;next to introduce the status of Vietnam and Thailand exports to China during 2005-2015;then to calculate and analyze the competitiveness of the export of natural rubber of Vietnam and Thailand to China by using the four indicators for balancing export competitiveness combine with the analysis of CMS model;finally,provide some suggestions to improve the competitiveness of Vietnamese natural rubber exports to China...
