Research On The Impact Of FDI On The Formation Of High-Tech Industrial Cluster

Since China became a member of the WTO,technology transfer has become more frequent,and foreign direct investment scale is growing.Recently,FDI has shifted from the initial labor-intensive industries to technology-intensive industries,and especially to high-tech industries.Therefore,foreign direct investment not only promoted China's economic development,but also affected the development of high-tech industry cluster.China has become the NO.1 developing country that attract the foreign direct investment.How to use foreign capital to promote national economic development has also become a hot topic in recent years.However,the impact of foreign direct investment on high-tech industries is concentrated in the whole country,ignoring differences among the regional economic development.According to the location of high-tech industrial cluster,they mainly centres in the Yangtze River Delta,the Pearl River Delta and the Bohai Rim.These three regions are also the three growth poles of China 's regional economic growth.With their high level of economic development and superior geographical location,they have attracted much investment from many multinational companies.Based on the theory of industrial cluster and FDI technology spillover,this paper studies the impact of FDI on the high-tech industrial clusters in the three regions and the path of influencing the development of their own high-tech industrial clusters,and puts forward the relevant policies to promote the development of high-tech industrial clusters in the three regions.First,the writer expounds the formation of high-tech industry cluster and the theory of FDI technology spillover.Secondly,the mechanism of FDI on high-tech industry cluster is summed up in the factors of high-tech industry cluster formation and FDI technology spillover.Then,based on the data of the high-tech industry statistical yearbook,the writer makes the empirical analysis of the impact of FDI on the three high-tech industrial clusters,and the corresponding path.The empirical result shows that FDI has a positive effect on the high-tech industry cluster in the Yangtze River Delta and the Bohai Rim region,and has a negative effect on the Pearl River Delta.According to the test of the path of action in the Yangtze River Delta and the Bohai Rim region shows that FDI promotes the high-tech industry cluster in the Yangtze River Delta through human capital,and promotes the high-tech industry cluster in the Bohai Rim region through technological research and development.Finally,according to the analysis of empirical results,the author puts forward the relevant policy recommendations.
