Jiangsu is well developed economically and poor in natural resources, which means there is high urgency for it to develop ecological civilization.Over the years, the Jiangsu provincial government has attached great importance to the construction of ecological civilization. It established sustainable development strategy as an important strategy for economic development as early as 1990s.Later in the early 21st century,it set the goal of building ecological province, and list environmental protection and resource conservation as an important policy for development.Under the joint efforts of the whole province, the quality of ecological environment in Jiangsu Province has been significantly improved, and the construction of ecological civilization has achieved outstanding results. At the same time, due to the highly-developed economy,Jiangsu Province is also facing increasingly tight resources and environmental constraints.Reviewing the path of ecological construction in Jiangsu not only helps to identify the advantages and disadvantages, but also provides accurate guidance for further developmentBased on the economic perspective, this paper analyzes the current situation of ecological civilization construction in Jiangsu Province and southern and northern Jiangsu from the aspects of economic development stage, economic growth mode, environment construction situation and the environmental cost of development. Then, this paper establishes an index system and evaluates the level of ecological civilization construction in Jiangsu Province.Based on the evaluation results,it is concluded that insufficient and unreasonable city layout, low efficiency of resources utilization and serious environmental pollution are the main problems. Then a coupling correlation index system is established to measure the temporal and spatial changes of the coupling intensity between the ecological civilization construction and the economic development in Jiangsu Province from 2005 to 2014,it is then concluded that the coupling intensity between the two decreases first and then increases, and the northern Jiangsu region shows a certain difference. Then, based on the above results, this paper chooses the ecological civilization construction level index as the dependent variable, chooses the per capita income, the index of the.industrial structure, the technical contribution rate and the retail sales of social consumer goods as the proportion of GDP as the independent variable, and did a regression analysis on influencing factors of ecological civilization construction in Jiangsu Province. The regression results show that,on the whole, the four independent variables have a significant positive effect on the dependent variable. In the phased analysis, the index of the industrial structure is negative in the first stage and positive in the second stage. The regression results in southern are basically consistent with the overall regression results, while the index of industrial structure in northern Jiangsu is negative,And the proportion of retail sales of social consumer goods to GDP is not significant.Based on the empirical analysis results, this paper puts forward that the construction of ecological civilization should be constructed from four aspects:ecological comprehensive management, economic development mode transformation, industrial structure upgrading and demand structure optimization. The southern Jiangsu should enhance pollution treatment, develop the third industry, advance the development of information technology;while northern Jiangsu should promote economic development, increase investment in environment, transform traditional industries by ecological method, develop ecological industries, boost the introduction of technology and raise local residents' income.
