Research On Influence Of Highway Infrastructure On Manufacturing Agglomeration In Heilongjiang Province

As an important modern infrastructure transport mode,highway infrastructure has strong transport function with dense transport networks,it attracts a large number of industries to gather and form industrial agglomeration,resulting in scale economy and rapid development in this region.In recent years,the study on highway infrastructure to the overall industrial agglomeration has been relatively common,the impact of highway infrastructure on different industries and religions is relatively lack due to limited data.Based on this reason,this paper chooses Heilongjiang Province,the manufacturing province,not only because of its high manufacturing output value,but also the slow economic development and grim economic situation of Heilongjiang Province in recent years.Through the study of highway infrastructure to manufacturing agglomeration in Heilongjiang,this paper intends to provide policy recommendations for the economic sustainable development of Heilongjiang Province from the perspective of highway infrastructure.Based on the analysis of domestic and foreign literatures,this paper combines the new geography theory,location theory,industrial agglomeration and diffusion theory,regional economic theory and draws the theoretical model of the impact on highway infrastructure to manufacturing agglomeration.Using the data from 2001 to2013 to build a panel data model to analyze the influence of the highway infrastructure to the manufacturing agglomeration from the empirical view.Use the location entropy index and the highway infrastructure density index to measure the manufacturing agglomeration situation in Heilongjiang province from the regional and industrial level.The result shows that the significant level of impact of highway infrastructure to manufacturing agglomeration in Heilongjiang Province during 2001-2013 is low,but after 2008,the highway infrastructure to manufacturing agglomeration has a significant level in Heilongjiang Province.From these discoveries,this paper suggests the reasons are the high-level of local protectionism,the weak market economy system,the special industrial policy of Heilongjiang Province.At the same time,this paper examines the effect on sub-industry agglomeration from highway infrastructure,conclude that the highway infrastructure has a positively and significant impact on the technology-intensive manufacturing in Heilongjiang Province compared with capital-intensive manufacturing and labor-intensive manufacturing.Based on the positive impact on highway infrastructure to manufacturing agglomeration,this paper puts forwardsome policy suggestions,including increase investment of highway infrastructure to underdeveloped areas to promote economic development,reinforce investment to technology-intensive manufacturing,transform the economic driving model,establishment of regional coordination mechanism to promote economic development in Heilongjiang Province.
