Since the reform and open to the outside world,especially in the past 20 years,a large number of Chinese enterprises have begun to rise.Chinese enterprises especially emerging enterprises is in a relatively weak state,facing the market and technology of double disadvantage.To gain the constant competitive advantage,it needs continuous innovation.Product innovation is one of the core competitiveness of the enterprises to gain competitive advantage.Iterative innovation has become a very important development mode of rapid product innovation.Enterprise knowledge is an important resource to achieve iterative innovation.Internal and external knowledge is an important approach can achieve iterative innovation.Generative capability is able to achieve the dynamic balance ability of internal and external knowledge integration.what factors can affect the formation and development of generative capability has become an important research problem.This study will reveal the influence mechanism of generative capability from the two perspectives of customer orientation and competitor orientation,using empirical research methods.First,based on systematic analysis of the related theory,we establish the relationship between customer orientation,competitor orientation,knowledge integration,and create creative imitation capability.And then we construct the influence mechanism model of customer orientation and competitor orientation to generative capability.Through the empirical research,we reveals the influence mechanism of generative capability.Knowledge integration can mediate the relationship of the competitor orientation and generative capability.Customer orientation has no direct effect of customer orientation on generative capability,but can be influenced by knowledge integration and creative imitation.Knowledge integration and creative imitation play important roles in the formation and development of generative capability.Then we explained the influence mechanism of generative capability by a case study.Finally,we can enhance the generative capability by establishing customer and competitor oriented corporate culture,establishing a knowledge integration management mechanism and enhancing the creative imitation capability.
