The Influence Of Regional Resources And Institutional Environment On External Technology Acquisition Mode Of High-tech Industries

The development of the country is largely dependent on the development of regions in the country,while the high-tech industry is the key industry to improve regional competitiveness and economic strength.With the rapid development of technology and science and fiercely competition in the market,seriously product homogeneity,the high-tech industry in each region is facing unprecedented challenges.Many industries have lost low cost or price-based advantages.It is necessary to build a new competing paradigm by a strong technological capability.However,the regional high-tech industries lack of internal technology ability,it is also a wise strategic choice to acquire new technology from outside to improve the level of technology.This study focuses on the difference between two technology patterns,buy and cooperation,from three interpretative dimensions after literature reviews.Based on theory reviews and regional distribution research of high technology industry,build a conceptual framework to analyze the intrinsic links of technology patterns,regional resources and institutional environment the region owned.The study founds strong evidence that regional resources and institutional environment has significant influence on external technology acquisition modes of high-tech industries,and this influence is different in different industries.In pharmaceutical manufacturing industry,the regional R&D capability and regional average scale have strong positive effects on purchasing technology and R&D cooperation;In electronic and communication equipment manufacturing and medical equipment and instrument manufacturing,the level of profitability only has a positive impact on purchasing technology.Government support and technical achievements market of pharmaceutical industry have a strong negative impact on external technology acquisition modes;However,in the electronic and communication equipment manufacturing and medical equipment and instrument manufacturing the influence only significant in cooperation.At the same time,regional resource and institutional environment have different influence on the industry in different areas.
