In recent years,all types of emergencies have occurred frequently,which have caused severe supply disruptions from time to time and have brought enormous economic and social losses to the involved enterprises and supply chain networks.The unexpected events which lead to supply disruption incidents are a class of sudden,random and uncontrollable events.They seldom happen,however,they will cause huge and fatal damages once they happen.At the same time,customers’ demand has become more and more personalized and diversified along with the increasing globalization of markets and fierce competition.These trends will undoubtedly lead to demand uncertainty and pose more challenging requirements on supply chain management.And the variety and production of perishable products is huge.The perishable products are extremely critical in maintaining social production and normal operation of life.Therefore,there is an urgent need for experts and scholars to conduct further studies on the development of emergency response strategies to make the involved supply chains recover from supply disruptions to normal operations quickly in order to meet customer demand and to maintain competitive market advantages.Firstly,this paper introduces the research background and significance,sums up the domestic and international research on the supply chain disruptions,countermeasures against the supply disruptions risk and perishable products,expounds the theories of the emergency management and supply disruption.This paper considers emergency strategies for perishable products supply chain with one supply node’s failure.A comprehensive emergency strategy consisting of repair of failed suppliers,flexible production of internal supplier and alternate supplier to deal with supply node’s failure is proposed.Based on the integrated strategy,a single objective and multi-objective multi-period emergency planning model under certain and uncertain situation are developed.Finally,computational results for an illustrative case indicate the validity of the proposed model.
