The Effects Of Chinese Household Wealth On Income Mobility

In this paper,the author use the Chinese Health and Nutrition Survey Data to study the impact of the young family's wealth on their income mobility when they enter the labor market at 18-34 years old.The author study through two attitudes,the horizontal and the vertical,compare the different influence between different income levels in the horizontal and track the long-term trend in the vertical.In addition,the author devide the sample in three age groups to observe the different infulence in each age group.Through the study,the author find three main conclusions.First,the impact of family wealth on income mobility is most obvious in sub-poor and middle-income groups,with less impact on high-income groups and least impact on low-income groups.Second,in the long-term,the impact of family wealth on income mobility is weakening with time,but the process of changing is not the same.Thirdly,the influence of family wealth on the income mobility is different with age change,it is more influential to the young people entering the labor market at18-24 years old,but the effect on middle-aged groups at 25-30 and 20-35 is less.
