Research On The Impact Of Corn Price Fluctuation On Farmers’ Household Income In Jilin Province

Jilin province is one of the grain-producing areas in China,Jilin Province has made great achievements in grain production and farmers’ household income.As a corn planting province,the corn production of Jilin province reached 28 million 57 thousand tons accounting for about 77% of total grain output in 2015.In 2015,the average per capita disposable income of rural households in Jilin was 11163 Yuan,of which agricultural income was 6598 Yuan,accounting for about 59.11% of the per capita disposable income of rural households.Planting corn has become the most important source of income for farmers’ household income in Jilin province.The policy on purchasing and stockpiling corn had been implemented in 2008,farmers had enjoyed the benefits of the policy,and began to plant a large area of corn causing the problem of inventory backlog.The aim is to change the price of corn into a market price,the government of Jilin province has changed the policy on purchasing and stockpiling corn into giving subsidies to corn producers.Market pricing will lead to decline in corn prices.The difficulty is to stabilize the income of corn farmers’ household income at the same time.Under the background of corn price reform,it is of practical significance to study the relationship between the price of corn and the income of farmers’ household income.This paper has selected the data of corn prices and farmers’ household income from 2009 to 2016.in order to acquire the impact of corn price on farmers’ household income,and a multiple pulse-response function is introduced in to analysis the conductional relationship between the varieties.The paper calculates the farmers’ household income after the decline of the price of corn,and analyzes the influence of the change of the price in Jilin Province.The paper consists of the following five components:The first chapter is introduction.First the paper illuminates research background and significance,then combs and comments on domestic and international research literature,at last this paper expounds research ideas,research methods,innovation and insufficient.In the second chapter,the author has analyzed the characteristics of corn price and farmers’ household income in Jilin province.It mainly includes the research on the historical trend and influencing factors of the price of corn in Jilin provinceIn the third chapter,the author has used Grainger causality test to study the causal relationship between the price of corn and the household income of farmers,and analyze the impact of corn price on Farmers’ household income.In the fourth chapter,the author has calculated the farmers’ household income after the decline of corn price and analyzed the influence of the decline of corn price on the household income of farmers.The fifth chapter,according to the previous research conclusions,puts forward countermeasures and suggestions.
