Both of the construction mileage and running mileage of Chinese's high-speed rail are the number one in the world.High-speed rail has become a striking national identity which is the symbol of Chinese pride.Compared to road engineering such as ordinary road and expressway,more difficult construction and more complex technology of high-speed rail bring new challenges to material management.The pros and cons of material management has a significant impact on construction projects quality and costs.Given this,material management process,evaluation method,optimization approach was researched in this paper.The problems existing in current material management were discussed.The optimization method and result of high-speed rail material management were analyzed.The main contents of this research are as follows.The process of material management in project construction was summarized.Organization structure,material planning,material procurement of material management,and management institution and method of important material was investigated.The influence of material management on construction project,the advantage and disadvantage of the exiting management approaches was summed up.It pointed out that material management run throughout the process of project construction and the building of material management institution must be strengthened.The evaluation method of material management in the construction project was studied by the quality control,cost control and risk control.The fuzzy evaluation method had been used to evaluate the suppliers and to select the suppliers with valuable material.The results show that the quality control,cost control and risk control should be comprehensive consideration in material management evaluation.But the fuzzy evaluation method can be influenced by subjective factors significantly.It analyzed the optimization problem of material management in the process of high-speed rail construction.Differential evolution algorithm was chosen as optimization algorithm and its mathematical model was established.An improved differential evolution algorithm was developed by adding adaptive control parameters and changing differential operators.The results of function test indicate that the effect of adaptive scale factor and adaptive crossover probability is different with different differential operators.The optimization algorithm obtains high success rates for all test function when it combines differential operator named rand-to-best or best-to-rand with adaptive control parameters.Especially to rand-to-best differential operator combines with adaptive control parameters,which can give consideration to both of the success rate and the computational efficiency.An optimization model of material management was developed,and a related optimization process of material management was proposed.For Shanghai-Kunming Railway in Yunnan,Material management of construction project of was optimized and analyzed for key links and main attributes of suppliers.The optimization results show that optimization model can synthetic tradeoff many factors of many links such as procurement,transport,storage and recycling.The optimal solution can be achieved with lowest cost,in the case of project quality and schedule assurance.The greater the number of suppliers to be optimized,the lower cost,the smaller influence of evaluation method on results of optimization.,and the smaller influence of subjective factors on material management.
