With the development of urbanization,the population growth in some big cities has not reduced the size of small cities,and the contribution of big cities to GDP growth has not increased,these phenomena are not explained by traditional agglomeration theory.The theory of borrowing size in networks provides a new research direction and perspective to explain these phenomenon.However,the existing studies have emphasized the evacuation of urban scale,there is a lack of research on the borrowing function phenomenon in the same size cities and the specific mechanism of borrowing size.This paper takes the spatial structure of Guangzhou-Foshan area as the research object in the urban network perspective,and uses a technical route of ‘Theoretical Discrimination-Empirical Study-Mechanism Analysis and Planning Suggestions' to explore the borrowed size' effect of Guangzhou-Foshan area in the polycentric network structure.On the basis of theoretical analysis,this paper summarizes the performance principle of borrowing size and establish an empirical model.In the empirical research,this paper organize the research content based on the data of different time sections,such as the census data,the internet data and so on,including the spatial and temporal evolution of the spatial structure of Guangzhou-Foshan area based on population and economic census data,the spatial model of urban functional network and the process of borrowing size based on the data of corporate headquarters-branch,the analysis of infrastructure network accessibility and borrowing size conditions based on the traffic data,and the analysis of the characteristics of the scale and the regional effect of the borrowing scze through the regression equation to examine the scope of the factors such as the scale of urban agglomeration,the resource endowment and the accessibility of the network and so on.On the basis of mechanism analysis and planning suggestion,through comprehensive analysis of the specific mechanism and applicable conditions of borrowing size,this paper puts forward the planning methods and ideas in the new period from the aspects of the urban developing motivity and the layout of urban planning.It is found that the polycentric spatial structure of Guangzhou-Foshan area tends to be stable,and the complementarity of urban functions is enhanced.With the link of urban function network is enhanced and the core-peripheral spatial structure of infrastructure network is established,the overall spatial pattern trend to be polycentric and networked.The urban scale and the accessibility of infrastructure network is an important factor that affects the effect of borrowing size,and the factors such as resource endowment,functional network connectivity and special policy events also have an impact on it.Therefore,the author believes that in the current urban network economy era,we can seek a new developing motivity and planning idea through the theoretical mechanism of borrowing size.
