Since the Chinese CRH train had been put into serviced, Chinese train’s technologies and applications have been made great progresses and qualitative leaps. However as is known to all, for the sake of the industry particularity and some historical reasons, many rules and regulations, as well as working procedures of Chinese railway are fell behind the international even internal mainstream trend. Therefore, except for the EMU infrastructures and train manufacturing technologies, there are significant lags and loopholes in many aspects in China, especially the management and construction systems. These problems,which didn’t made much troubles in initial stage of the CRH train service operation, would gradually accumulated and caused more problems in future. In contrast, other countries in order to avoid the management and institutional problems used many new concepts,technologies and management models in EMU’s manufacturing and operation service, which not only fit with the mainstream form of enterprise structure and management, but also combine with advanced management theory and system.This thesis summarizes domestic and international literatures on supply chain managements and railway material supplies, and builds a set of ideal supply chain theory model based on the characteristics of domestic railway. The thesis briefly introduced the material supply system, framework and structure in the Beijing Railway Bureau, Beijing EMU section and SJZ EMU depot three levels.According to the theoretical model, this thesis analyzes the present situation of the actual material managements in the SJZ EMU depot, and finds out the existing problems.Then according to the research route, in order to find out the underlying reasons of these problems, the thesis summarizes the causes of these problems and analyses them deeply.Next step of this thesis is using various theories, such as modern logistics theory, supply chain management theory, ERP management theory and so on, drawing lessons from the advanced experience of foreign railway material supply management systems, combining with the domestic railway research results of material supply systems from the top (overall)to the lower level (stations), to find solutions of these problems. At last the thesis aim at using these solutions in the actual production and operation. At the same time, the thesis observe and collect each solution’s functions and effects, evaluate different solutions by comparing the data statistics and effects before and after they been used. Finally summarize each solution, and design an optimization scheme, in order to reduce the material supply problems’ negative impact of time, quality and cost in EMU Operation and maintenance.This thesis also analyzes the status quo of the information management platform of Beijing EMU section. Combined with the actual situation of the SJZ EMU depot, this thesis studies the function of using the ERP information management platform to enhance the production and management in EMU depot, thus proves the necessity of using ERP system in EMU depot. The thesis also prove the feasibility of implementing ERP management in SJZ EMU depot, discussed the difficulties and needs of implementing ERP management in the current environment. This thesis provides another way to solve problems of material management in EMU depot.
