Geoparks play an irreplaceable role in the protection of geoheritages,the popularization of geoscience knowledge and the promotion of local economic development.However,the method of geoheritage resources evaluation is not perfect and the research needs to be in-depth.The conventional quantitative evaluation methods have strong correlation coefficient and factor weights depend on experts score.Taking the geological heritage resources of mount Yimengshan geopark as the research object,this paper firstly classifies the 27 main geoheritages in the area,then uses qualitative and quantitative evaluation methods respectively.Qualitative evaluation is carried out from three aspects: scientific,aesthetics and social value of geoheritages.On the basis of comparing the advantages and disadvantages of several conventional quantitative evaluation methods,AHP and PCA were used to establish the evaluation system to determine the weight of factors,so as to improve the objective and accuracy of the evaluation results.The purpose of this paper is to explore a reasonable method of geoheritages evaluation in mount Yimengshan geopark,and to provide reference for other geoparks.At the same time,it provides the theoretical basis for the development,construction and protection of geoheritages in mount Yimengshan geopark,and increases the possibility of applying mount Yimengshan UNESCO global geopark.The main achievements of this paper are as follows:1.The natural socio-economic development,environment,and areal geology of mount Yimengshan geopark are systematically studied.The geoheritages are divided into seven categories,i.e.,geological heritages of stratigraphy,rock heritages,structural heritages,fossil heritages,mining heritages,geomorphologic landscape and water landscape.2.Natural attributes,value attributes,protection status and development potential are selected as the four criteria,which are divided into 15 evaluation factors to establish the evaluation system of mount Yimengshan geopark.And on this basis,the 27 major geoheritages monomers and types are evaluated and classified.3.The comprehensive evaluation method of AHP and PCA is constructed,whose result is more accurate and objective and effectively solves the problems of relativity and subjectivity of the evaluation factors existing in the conventional quantitative evaluation method.4.Through the comprehensive evaluation,Yimeng mountain geopark has 4 world-class,5national,10 provincial and multi-municipal geoheritages.5.This paper puts forward the problems to be solved in the geopark and the countermeasures of construction and planning from the perspectives of sustainable development.
