Study On Sustainable Development Of Xingwen Karst Geopark In Sichuan Province

Geopark is a kind of natural park which is of particular geological significance，precious or beautiful landscape features. It is an extension of the existing protection ofnature. In order to protect and leverage this kind of rare geological heritage resources，many countries are active in the establishment and development of geopark. Xingwenkarst geopark is rich in geological heritage and cultural resources. The karstgeological relics in study area also have great taste and value. In2005，Xingwengeopark became a member of GGN（Global Geoparks Network）.This paper makes a research from the following aspects：1. On the basis of document research and spot investigation，combined withcomprehensive analysis of Xingwen karst geopark，we make a systemic summary ofgeneral situation and a classification of tourism resources in the study area.2. We make a resources characteristic contract，especially the geological relicresources characteristic，between the Xingwen karst geopark and other world heritagesites. Then we get the comparative advantages and disadvantages of study area.3. With the SWOT analysis of Xingwen karst geopark，we discuss the advantages，weakness，opportunities and threats of tourism development in study area，whichinclude three advantages：outlying traffic advantage，geological relic resourcesadvantage and cultural resources advantage；four disadvantages：geological landscapevulnerability，inadequate infrastructure，low exploitation level and fuzzy holistictourism information；three opportunities：the development of geotourism，support ofgovernment policies and the opportunity of western development strategy；threethreats：similar landscape resources competition，diversified market demand and thechallenge of sustainable development.4. By using AHP analysis method，this paper evaluates the tourism resources inXingwen karst geopark and gives evaluation results. In evaluation comprehensive process，the weight value of resource conditions is biggest，while it of the locationconditions is second，and it of the environmental conditions is least；in evaluationproject process，the weight values of geological heritage resources，cultural resourcesand traffic conditions are biggest，while it of the social conditions is least；inevaluation factor process，the weight values of typicality and enjoyment of geologicalheritage resources，representative of cultural resources and transportation accessibilityare biggest，while it of the economic status，cultural education and scale of scenic areaare least.5. Synthesize above research results，this paper put forward the sustainabledevelopment strategies of Xingwen karst geopark. The sustainable developmentstrategies mainly include five parts：（1）combine protection with development；（2）take advantage of resources；（3）perfect infrastructure；（4）strengthen the regionalcooperation and realize the tourism resources concordant exploitation；（5）to establisha disaster prevention system and realize the digital construction of study area.
