In the past thirty years,with the development of world economy,changes in the credit market environment,the strategic importance of the retail business of commercial banks have become more and more obvious.Its light assets,low risks,less volatility have attracted more and more attention,and it becomes one of the core businesses that are equally important to the company business and financial market transactions.In recent ten years,domestic commercial banks,inspired by the development of retail business of foreign banks,and subject to the external market pressures of financial disintermediation and interest rate liberalization,have proposed retail business transformation one after another.In 2013,led by Yu'e Bao,internet finance came to light.Relying on information technologies,such as cloud computing,social networking,and search engines,internet finance has fully reflects its unique advantages on user,channel,flow,etc.The retail business of commercial banks is facing changes of market participants,customer needs,service channels,scientific development,etc.And its business model is facing more realistic and urgent challenges.Based on the case study of X bank's retail business development,this paper firstly introduced the domestic and foreign scholars' researches on the development of retail banking,so as to provide reference and innovation for further researches.Next,this paper described the status quo of retail business of domestic commercial banks,and listed the development experience in retail business of advanced commercial banks,such as Bank of America and China Citic Bank.Then,this paper began with the case study.Combined with the specific circumstances of the X Bank,it analyzed the problems in the development of retail business.And this paper,using SWOT analytic method,made a deep analysis to the internal and external environment of the development of retail banking at the present stage in China.Finally,on the basis of previous description,this paper put forward constructive development strategies to X bank's retail business,from aspects of customers,products,channels,data,and innovation.And it suggested providing backstage support to the retail banking development,from the aspects of integration mechanism,resources input,and risk management.This paper aimed to provide reference for the actual operation of the retail business of China's commercial banks.
