Research On Gateway Clearance Efficiency Of International Express Enterprises

With the development of foreign trade,the homogenization of products and services in the international freight forwarder industry is becoming increasingly serious and high Customs clearance efficiency is proved to be a core competitiveness under this circumstance in China.Yet international express companies in China widely share longer clearance time and lower clearance efficiency KPIs like COA and BOS than in other countries with same large import-export business volumes.And this dissertation is to discuss and analyze how the shipment transit time can be decreased and efficiency of Customs clearance enhanced.International express starts late in China and international express companies nowadays are subject to many restrictions in going through the Customs.Based on relevant research findings in this field and my past work experience,this dissertation elaborates both the external and internal factors that impact Customs clearance efficiency.In the end,suggestions are made on raising clearance efficiency from the external aspects including the Customs,clients and gateways.As for the internal factor which is the international express company itself,approaches are also proposed by making DHL as an example and summarizing its new ideas and practices in improving Customs clearance efficiency.
