As a secondary energy,electricity is an important channel between original energy and electricity consumers.Electricity price is in no doubt the most critical factor for the interest of all anticipators in the power market.It also means a lot for the sustainable development of energy and environment.As a natural monopoly industry,the actual value of electricity has not been reflected,which caused a series of problems.Smart grid is a new conception proposed in recent years to increase the efficiency of the power industry.Demand Response(DR)in Demand Side Management(DSM)is a critical part of smart grid.Price based demand response(PBDR)is the base of DR.This paper first introduces the research status of smart grid and DR,especially PBDR.Second it describes the pricing theories of electricity products.Then it discusses DR theories and PBDR strategies.Also,it provides a PBDR model,which shows how load changes according to the price change.The empirical part of the paper established a model called Load-based Real Time Pricing model.Use the model to simulate the electricity price and load under Real Time Pricing with load data every half an hour in ten consecutive days of 118 households in an area of 2014.Compare the costs and benefits before and after RTP from the respects of demand side,supply side and environment to evaluate the effects of PBDR strategy,which reaches a conclusion that DR strategy has a significant influence on load shifting and load reducing.PBDR strategy can also improve the total benefits of demand side,supply side and environment.
