In the context of globalization of the economy,the Technology-based SMEs have a very important influence to promote economic growth in the country or region,improve market competitiveness and enhance the comprehensive economic strength.With the deepening of market economic system reform and the influx of foreign capital enterprises,Technology-based SMEs is facing new challenges and opportunities for development.So,relying on flexible market mechanism and rapidly technological innovation already can't adapt to the need of development of the competitive environment.At the same time,in the composition of TMT of technology-based SMEs,the personnel structure is unreasonable and age structure tend to be younger;professional background and educational background is too technical that lack of professional management personnel;Gender structure is male-dominated and management style is unitary.On the management decision,decision-making mechanism of TMT is not sound,decision rights is mainly in the hands of senior managers,and management level is too flat.With gradually revealing of malady and increasingly serious of team conflict,it has affect the long-term survival and development of the Technology-based SMEs.Based on upper echelon theory and human capital theory,as the research object of the Technology-based SMEs in TianJin,this research analyzes the influence of the heterogeneity of TMT population characteristics on enterprise performance,and introduce the variable of team conflict to discuss the role of team conflict among them.In this research,we take the combination of qualitative and quantitative method for validation.By the way of issuing paper questionnaire and electronic questionnaire,we collected data of nearly hundred enterprises and taken back 259 valid samples ultimately in the total samples of 269.Through the empirical analysis by using spss20.0 statistical software,we verify the hypothesis proposed in this paper.Test results show that the heterogeneity of the TMT's age,education background,function background,gender,etc has a positive effect on enterprise performance,and tenure heterogeneity has a negative effect on corporate performance.The heterogeneity of TMT population characteristic has positive influence on task conflict and relationship conflict.Task conflict can improve enterprise performance,while relationship conflict will reduce enterprise performance.Task plays the role of intermediary between heterogeneity index of TMT population characteristic and corporate performance,and relationship conflict doesn't play a role of intermediary.According to the hypothesis test results revealed that the inner transmission mechanism of heterogeneity of TMT population characteristic to enterprise performance,and provide some meaningful suggestions and strategies for construction and optimization of TMT of Technology-based SMEs.
