The Research On The Development Level Of Urbanization On The Impact Of The Residents' Consumption In Jilin Province

As a new development strategy in China,urbanization plays an important role in promoting economic development and expanding domestic demands.In order to adjust domestic demands in Jilin province and further improve people's life by pushing urbanization,the Jilin provincial Party committee and the provincial government made "Strategic Planing of New-type Urbanization in Jilin Province”based on the national development strategy of new-type urbanization.The development of urbanization in Jilin province has made remarkable achievements and the urbanization rate reached 48.4% in 2015.However,the consumption rate of Jilin Province is always lower than that of the nation and takes on a trend of insufficient consumption.According to the standard “S curve Northam” on urbanization,urbanization of Jilin province is now in its mid-term stage,so we can boost consumption by promoting the further development of urbanization in Jilin province.In the paper,I take consumption level of urban and rural residents and development level of urbanization in Jilin province as research objects.And the paper is organized as follows.First is a general review of domestic and foreign research results on the dynamic relationship between urbanization and consumption level of urban and rural residents as well as relevant theories.Then I make a descriptive analysis of development level of urbanization and residents' consumption level in Jilin province by selecting related data from 1984 to 2015 in Jilin Province.Finally,I build two models of VAR regardless of the endogenous and exogenous variables by the Eviews statistical analysis software.In addition,basing on the stability of VAR model,I establish the impulse response function and variance decomposition,and study the relative influence of urbanization on the variables of the VAR model.The results show that the contribution rate of urbanization to the consumption level ofrural residents is higher than to the consumption level of urban residents in Jilin Province.Urbanization can effectively enhance the consumption level of urban and rural residents,therefore,Jilin province should persist in pushing the development of urbanization.
