Study On Project Manager Competency Model Of HT Company

HT is a water conservancy industry enterprise.The development of informationization of water conservancy industry in China lags behind some other industries,and the level of IT project management is also relatively low.The leading manager of the project team plays a critical role in the process of project implementation.How to evaluate the performance of project manager and select excellent leading manager to accomplish the project objectives efficiently is very important in the field of human resource management.Based on current research of competency model,this paper conducts a case study of HT.From the perspective of competency,the composition elements of competency of IT project manager are first analyzed.The general competency model and the excellent competency model are constructed for IT project manager through job analysis,behavioral event interview,and questionnaire survey.Finally,the general competency model of HT's IT project manager contains seventeen competencies:Integrity,Responsibility,Initiative,Professionalism,Execution,Coordination,Conflict resolution,Team leadership,Team building,Communication and communication skills,Cost control,Organizational skills,Work breakdown,Professional business,Quality Management,Resilience,Achievement orientation.And the Z value test is used to obtain the excellent competency model on the basis of the general model,which reveals the different requirements of HT's excellent competency model in quality management and integrity.The research result is valuable for companies to recruit appropriate and efficient IT project managers in water conservancy industry.
