Research On The Influence Of New Urbanization On The Efficiency Of China’s Tourism

The process of urbanization is an important symbol of social progress and development,and it is an important engine to realize the "Chinese dream".The urbanization rate of China has increased to 56.1% in 2015,and the urbanization has had a significant impact on all areas of society.The 18 th Party Congress of China clearly points out that the rapid development of China’s economy needs to take a new road of urbanization.Tourism and new urbanization as a new growth pole to enhance the growth of the national economy are important economic phenomena that have been heatedly discussed in the "new normal" stage of China.In order to explore the relationship between the new urbanization and the efficiency of China’s tourism industry.First of all,The article constructs 26 indicators to evaluate the new urbanization quality of China’s 31 provinces and cities in 2001-2014 by using the improved entropy method.Secondly,the DEA method is used to calculate the efficiency of China’s tourism industry and its decomposition efficiency of China’s 31 provinces and cities in2001-2014.Thirdly,this paper researches the effect of the new urbanization on the efficiency of the Chinese tourism industry based on the relevant data of China’s 31 provinces and cities in 2001-2014 using the spatial econometric model.Moreover,in order to further explore the main channels which the new urbanization affect on the efficiency of China’s tourism industry,this paper researches the influence degree which the new urbanization bring to China’s tourism industry technical efficiency and the scale efficiency of China’s tourism industry with empirical method.The following are some conclusions about the research:(1)On the whole,the new urbanization quality of China shows an increasing trend over time.According to the division of the eastern,central and western regions,the new urbanization quality shows a gradual decrease in the eastern and western regions.So we can find the regional are imbalance;(2)With the evolution of time,the efficiency of China’s tourism industry,tourism technical efficiency and scale efficiency presents increasing trend on the whole.The scale efficiency of tourism industry maintain a high level during 14 years.The efficiency of China’s tourism industry in line with the order from large to small is the eastern,central and western respectively according to the division.Therefore,the regional development still exists bigger difference;(3)The new urbanization brings a significant positive impact on the efficiency of Chinese tourism,and there is a positive correlationwith the technical efficiency of China’s tourism industry.However,there is no evidence to suggest that the new urbanization is related on tourism industry scale efficiency.So we can find that the impact of the new urbanization on the efficiency of China’s tourism industry is mainly through the influence of the technical efficiency of tourism.Finally,according to the above conclusions,this paper puts forward the corresponding countermeasures and suggestions in order to provide a better way for the healthy development of China’s tourism industry.
