In today's world,the trend of economic globalization is becoming more and more obvious.More and more Chinese enterprises begin to go abroad to participate in international competition.However,compared with those famous international contractors in the world,Chinese contractors' development and profitability are still in a low level,and their overall level is relatively low.There are many factors that restrict the existence and development of the international engineering contracting enterprises,and the most critical factor is the project logistics management.According to an international consulting agency,for those delayed large international project,53% of which are caused by the overdue supply of equipment and materials,and 25% are closed with the logistics cost overruns.International Project Logistics consist of goods congregation,the international transportation,customs clearance,and transportation to the project site,and achieve the goods transferring to different countries.This process involves suppliers,contractors,freight forwarders,owners,close connections among which are strongly needed.Any problems may cause delay or stagnation of the whole project.The consequences are not only bearing huge compensation,but more importantly,it will have a negative impact on the establishment and promotion of international brands.In short,the project duration control,cost control,capital flow is closely related to the level of international project logistics management.However,most of Chinese enterprises have not caused enough attention to the importance of international project logistics management,and have not taken the initiative to recognize the crucial role of the international project logistics management in cost controlling.Therefore,the situation that the international engineering contracting project logistics management level can not keep up with the further development of the international road and the improvement of competitiveness constitute a serious challenge and hinder to Chinese enterprises.This paper analyzes the present situation of international project contracting industry and the present situation of logistics management of international engineering contracting projects.Then taking SINOHYDRO BUREAU 14 CO.LTD,a large international engineering contracting enterprises in Yunnan Province as the representative,this paper summed up the characteristics,management mode and operation process of international project logistics,and find out the common problems on international project logistics management.Next,this paper introduces the optimization method of international project logistics management system from the aspects of process control,inventory control,and support system construction.Finally,this paper designs an optimized logistics management system for M projects of SINOHYDRO BUREAU 14 CO.LTD,which can be extended to other international projects.Thus achieving the goal of highly efficient logistics process control,logistics cost savings,logistics management capabilities improvement,and enterprises' international competitiveness promotion.At the same time,I hope that the logistics system optimization measures proposed by this paper can be helpful to other international engineering contracting enterprises in the same field.
