Footwear products have been the main export products in Vietnam.The proportion in footwear exports is about 10%of the country ’s total exports.By 2016,four largest countries which owns world’s largest leather shoes production were China,India,Brazil and Vietnam.However The Value in Vietnamese leather footwear export keeps No.3 in the world,only behind China and Italy.Vietnam leather footwear products have been exported to more than 50 countries.However,although Vietnamese footwear exports increases every year,most of the footwear enterprises are processors,which can not take the initiative in raw materials.Since cost and technology are limited,raw materials need to be imported from abroad among the 60%of the footwear products.At the same time,price competition is becoming more and more intense,especially among Asian countries.Because these countries have their own footwear industry advantages.In China these exported products are much cheaper and China can take the initiative in the raw materials.According to Chinese policy in recent years,China will focus on investment in high-tech industries and less investment on footwear industry,therefore it might cause a large number of international orders to Vietnam market.Footwear industry in Thailand,Indonesia and many other countries has developed rapidly.Somehow Vietnamese is also facing the pressure from foreign companies and companies from all over the world.In this case,Vietnamese footwear industry must make itself more and more competitive in the international economy.Therefore,the enterprises need to make product direction clear,improve product quality,also science and technology in machinery,build brand reputation,focus on style design.In addition,government had better find ways to provide raw materials in order to take the initiative for making better improvement.
