Comparative Study On The Urbanization Of Coastal And Mountainous Areas In Fujian Province

Urbanization has been highlighted by scholars and government since the 21st century,and it's even pushed to height of history by the Third Plenary Session of the eighth and the central work conference of Urbanization.As one of the two "great events",which will effect the process of human in the 21st century,urbanization has been high hopes since its great opportunities and enormous potential.However,due to the differences of the level of regional economic development,endowment of natural resources and institutional environment,the process of urbanization in China has appeared significant spatial differences.Uncoordinated development between regions will not only affect the further advance of urbanization,may also lead to a series of socio-economic problems.Therefore,it is important to explore the formation mechanism and influencing factors of urbanization spatial differences.Fujian province,located in the southeast coast of China,has a great location and strong economic foundation.Since the Reform and Opening-up,the development of urbanization in Fujian Province has a rapid advanced time,the level and quality of urbanization have been significantly improved,which has entered the late period of accelerated development of urbanization.But,as like the country's situation,the difference of the level of socio-economic development,endowments of natural resource and the humanistic tradition between different regions,in Fujian province,the level of urbanization has a great difference between the coastal and mountainous areas.Therefore,it has great meaning,from the perspective of spatial differences,to fully understand the situation of urbanization development in Fujian province.Meanwhile,due to the situation of urbanization development in Fujian province is consistent with the national base case,which makes this study more typical.This paper is divided into five chapters in total.The first chapter discusses the research background and significance,reviews and comments on relevant documents and theories of urbanization at home and abroad,explains the research contents,ideas,methods,as well as offices and other innovations and shortcomings.In the second chapter,we first,Fujian 67 county-level administrative units,divide 67 county-level administrative units in Fujian province into two regions which are coastal and mountainous areas,and describe its humanistic tradition and socio-economic profiles;then,sort the development process of urbanization in Fujian Province,analyze its current situations and existing problems in the process of urbanization.The third section analysis the spatial differences of the level of urbanization with relevant theories,research the formation mechanism of the level of urbanization between coastal and mountainous areas in Fujian province.Chapter IV in accordance with the theoretical analysis of Chapter III and spatial econometric theory,and then use the fixed effects spatial error model,in empirical comparative method,to study the differences of level of urbanization between coastal and mountainous areas in Fujian province,find that in Fujian province the aboriginal differences of urbanization mainly caused by differences in the level of economic development,where the per capita GDP can make a greater promotion to the urbanization in the mountainous areas,while the second industrial output value accounted for the proportion of GDP and the third industrial output value accounted for the proportion of GDP play a greater role in promoting the process of urbanization in coastal;in addition,the population factor,regional traffic conditions,policies and systems,income gap between urban and rural areas,level of education and other factors all have a significant impact on the level of urbanization,its also the reason which causes the differences between the coastal and mountainous areas of urbanization in Fujian province.The fifth chapter summarize the text,combine with the actual situation of the development of urbanization in Fujian province,and based on research findings put forward corresponding countermeasures and suggestions.
