As the latest date announced by National Tourism Bureau, the number of total inbound tourist in the year of 2015 was 1.3 billion, which grew 4.14% from a year earlier. Compared with the recovering global international tourism market, the rapid growing domestic and outbound tourism markets, China's inbound tourism market has being developed slowly at present. It's still in a downward trend and on the process of the changing from quantity-oriented growth model to quality-oriented growth model. From the perspective of inbound tourism consumption and tourists' consumption construction, this paper mainly studies how to optimize the tourism products to enhance the competition of the inbound tourism market and expend the consumer demand. The conception of "tourism supply-side structural reform" proposed by the government in this year has built a solid theoretical foundation for this paper. Through discussing tourists' consumption structure from the supply-side, this paper analyzes inbound tourists' demand and the market's demand together, which aims to optimize inbound tourists' consumption structure and enhance the global competition of China's inbound tourism products.Shanghai is the economical and financial center of China, as well as one of the important ports of entry. Located in the Yangtze River Delta, a favorable geographic location, Shanghai has been one of the hottest inbound tourism cities endowing with rich natural and cultural tourism resources. Therefore, the study regarding the development of Shanghai's inbound tourism will have a practical reference to the overall development of China's inbound tourism. Against this background, making use of the tourism research approaches, simultaneously combining with the experience of the author engaging in inbound tourism, this paper from the perspective of tourists' consumption construction, concentrates on analyzing the relationship between tourists' consumption structure and tourism products, and finally gives practical advice to optimize the inbound tourism products of Shanghai city.This paper mainly focuses on the following three aspects:(1) Regarding the pattern of Shanghai inbound tourism market. Referring to the indexes analysis methods of tourist-generating region annual variation, seasonal variation, preference degree, competitive state and geography-concentration, this paper collects the cross section and panel data from 2004 to 2013, and then analyzes Shanghai inbound tourism market from the standpoint of spatial-temporal dynamic.(2) Regarding Shanghai inbound tourists' consumption structure. From longitudinal time series and horizontal tourism consumption structure dimensions, this paper gives a comprehensive study of Shanghai inbound tourists' consumption structure from 2004 to 2013. Meanwhile, combing with the pattern of Shanghai inbound tourism market, this paper studies the relationship between tourists' consumption structure and current inbound tourism market.(3) Regarding Shanghai inbound tourism products. This paper chooses four domestic and foreign travel agencies now operating China inbound tourism, and analyzes Shanghai tours products on their English websites. Meanwhile, this study also concludes the features and problems of the current Shanghai inbound tourism.The selected topic of this paper came from the author's practical working experience and thinking about the situation of China inbound tourism. Therefore, the final research conclusion about the optimization suggestions on the development of inbound tourism will have a positive realistic significance to the author's practical work in the field of China inbound tourism in the future. Selecting from the perspective of tourism products which belongs to the supply-side and also combing with the tourism consumption structure which reflects tourists'demand, this paper studies China's inbound tourism products, and analyzes the relationship between tourists' consumption structure and tourism products. From macro view about the global international tourism market and China inbound tourism development, to micro view about the situation of Shanghai inbound tourism market and tourism products, this study gives deep thinking and comprehensive analysis on the research contents.
