Urbanization is the trend of social development today,the demand for land resources is 1 arge and increasing.Taking the road of increasing local taxes by attracting external investmen t projects,the government-leading removal resettlement mode is usually taken by local autho rities,that is to say,village areas around the city are demolished in order to providing land for urban development,while villagers are resettled into new rural communities.Only to achieve a harmonious removal resettlement,can the government ensure the economic progress,the so cial harmony and the fundamental interests of the people.After the removal resettlement wor k,an important problem with urgent needs to think is to put forward countermeasures for reset tled villagers to achieve transitional development basing on investigation and analysis on their living situation.This paper mainly investigates a total of fourteen villages under the jurisdiction of Jibei Sub-district,of which the villagers were respectively resettled into Mao Guan community,Hu i Xin Yuan community,Xu Jia Xin Yuan community and Jian Jia community.The paper conc erns at the identity change of the villagers from "rural people" to "community residents",focu ses on the problems that are faced by villagers at individual level as well as in aspects of the r esettlement work,the living environment and the transitional development,and puts forward c ountermeasures and suggestions.To research on the transitional development of the relocated villagers is not only an important issue for each developing city,but also an essential way for the nation to improve the living standards of urban residents,therefore it is of great theoretical and practical significance.
