| With the rapid development of socialist market economy,China has made remarkable achievements in all walks of life.At the same time,however,many companies are suffering from greater and greater pressure of survival and development due to the highly unpredictable market.In addition,many companies are facing trust crisis caused by being bogged down in chasing profit,reducing cost and crazy price competitions,hence flinging aside corporate social responsibility and business ethics.For instance,world-shaking Prism Scandal,as well as Volkswagen emission scandal in Sep.2015,all took place in the USA.Organizational members are actually significant participants in finding wrongdoings and their positive reactions to the wrongdoings plays an important part in delivering related information from bottom departments.Systematic studies of whistleblowing related behaviors in China are still not enough compared with those in western nations.On top of it,Chinese people,distinguishes themselves from western people in terms of group characteristics and psychological activities in dealing with things."Compared with western countries,the Chinese nation is poor in pioneering thought but rich in conservative thought;poor in courage but rich in perseverance...Chinese advocate on humility while westerners seizing.Westerners call for looking forward while Chinese looking backwards." The research results based on western people could not be suited to China.It is of great significance both in theory and practice to probe the mechanism and factors of whistleblowing in China under the background of economic transformation.This research paper,from perspectives of social learning theory,social cognitive theory and model of ethical decision making,explores the characters of Big-five personality(extraversion,agreeableness,conscientiousess,neuroticism)and its main effect on the willingness to blow the whistle.Caring-Oriented Organizational Ethic Climate is also employed as adjustment variable for the study of its influence on the above main effects.Verification of the main effect in the Chinese context has also enriched western whistleblowing-related researches.One of the innovations in this paper is the introduction of adjustment variable.Previous researches related organizational ethical climate mostly with wrongdoings but not with individual whistleblowing willingness,and fewer focused on ethical climate’s regulating effect on the whistleblowing willingness.This study formulates 9 hypotheses and tests them with positivist analysis.25 sample enterprises from Jiangxi,Beijing,Anhui,Henan,and Fujian province are in fields of manufacturing,retailing,agriculture,aquaculture and so on.A total of 295 questionnaires have been acquired.This paper mainly adopted the SPSS20.0 software to analyze data,including the descriptive statistical analysis of demographic variables(gender,age and education background),test on reliability and validity of scale,and used hierarchical regression method to verify hypotheses proposed in the research paper.Cronbach’s Alpha coefficient in this research scale is 0.762,with KMO 0.806,which indicates that the scale has a high level of reliability and validity.The results show that the extraversion,conscientiousness and caring-oriented organizational ethic climate in the Big five personality exert positive effect on the members’ willingness to blow the whistle while agreeableness and neuroticism produce negative impact.Caring-oriented organizational ethic climate positively regulates the relationship,but negatively moderates the relationship between agreeableness,neuroticism and whistleblowing willingness. |
