An Empirical Research On Product Modularity And Supply Chain Collaboration

In the products' production and design, modular idea has become an important means of improving enterprise manufacturing capacity. Product modularity meets the needs of the users' customization, reduces the cost of innovation, shortens the production cycle and facilitates for the product repair and upgrading.The forms of market competition has evolved into a competition between different supply chain and supply chain, and fierce business competition and rapid changes in the external market enables companies start from the pursuit of individual interests to maximize the supply chain as a whole collaboration to change.Based on this background,this paper pay attention to the domestic enterprises to study the relationship between supply chain collaboration and product modularity. First,sort out the domestic and international literature on product modularity and supply chain collaboration. In a lot of basic researches, building the relational model of product modularity supply chain collaboration and organization performance, giving out four hypothesises, 9 small hypothesises. Then, it is the measurement design of the core variables of this paper. The product modularity is divided into two dimensions: product design modular and product production modular and the supply chain collaboration is divided into three dimensions information sharing, decision synchronization and incentive alignment. Next, combining the results of the questionnaire survey of 240 domestic enterprises and using SPSS19.0 to data reliability and validity analysis and factor analysis.Establishing structural equation by LISERAL8.7 and using a multi-group analysis to investigate the regulation of firm size effects. Finally, the results obtained in this paper: the product modularity has a significant positive impact on organization performance, product design modular and product production modular have different effects on the supply chain collaboration, supply chain collaboration has a significant positive impact on collaboration performance and the firm size plays a regulatory role.
