"Guo Wen Zhou Bao" Commentary Research (1924-1926)

In August 3rd 1924,“Guowen Weekly” was founded and put forward the speech policy of "independent observation and free opinion" in its "publication speech",which indicated the objectivity and independent attitude to running the magazine.The people of “Guowen Weekly” always practiced this principle in its later practice.Especially when it was out of the control of the "Anfu system",it was always stand in an objective position to comment on many major issues and striven to seek truth from facts and defend the interests of the nation.Based on the text analysis and quantitative statistics of 389 critical articles published in “Guowen Weekly” from 1924 to 1926,the author finds that political issues are the focus of his comments.Chinese politics presents a situation of internal and external clinging.The internal warlords are divided.The situation of exploitation and oppression of China by foreign powers is not diminishing.In the face of internal and external troubles,the Weekly newspaper tries to find a solution to the current situation in a rational way,to seek national progress at home and to strive for national independence abroad.It try to improve the way of public opinion and achieve the purpose of governing the country.
