Research On Virtual Landscape Design Based On Digital Technology

Recent years,with the rapid development of Virtual Reality,Augmented Reality,and other relevant digital techniques,Virtual Landscape which based on these digital techniques has been challenging the traditional landscape theory and practice.On the one hand,Virtual Reality makes the carrier of the landscape design turns from the physical real world to digital virtual world.It destroys the generation method and the expression method of the traditional landscape.On the other hand,the virtual and digital features of Virtual Landscape which can provide people immersion,interactivity,and experience,expand the landscape domain.It is a new type of landscape which pick up on science development trend.Virtual landscape provides the new ideology and the practice method for Digital City,the conduction of urban context,the relic development,etc.It helps to research the relationship of humanity and science,matter and virtual things,history and the present time.This dissertation will research Virtual Landscape by theories and practices: Firstly,sorting out and analyzing the appearance and development of Virtual Reality,Augmented Reality,and Mixed Reality.Then research their development state of in the landscape design.Secondly,analyzing many relevant digital concepts and the relationship of them.discriminate 'Augmented Reality' and ' Mixed Reality','Virtual Landscape' and 'Digital Landscape'.Thirdly,as a new type of landscape design,Virtual Landscape which based on digital techniques is only in the beginning stage.The dissertation will demonstrate its necessity and feasibility to be the basic theory of Virtual Reality.Fourthly,exploring the design methods of Virtual Landscape by numbers of relevant case studies in different areas.Fifthly,making a design practice in Nanjing Ming Dynasty City Wall by the theory research to verify the theory research.In conclusion,this dissertation research Virtual Landscape in theory,design method,and practice design to help and inspire the future research in this field.
