Electrostatic discharge is a kind of near field interference for electrical equipment for a long time. With the high development of electric industry, the electronic equipment was developing to high-speed communication?highly integrated?lower consumption of power, this trend causes a result that the insulation layers in the integrated circuit become thinner and thinner, and even have no insulation layers, meanwhile the chips are becoming greatly sensitive with shorter and shorter lines. Electrostatic-discharge(ESD) is a process of high voltage, large E-field, transient high current pulse. Current produced by Electrostatic-discharge can directly affect the device through the conducted interference, or Radiation interference indirectly. Although it was not until 1990s that the researchers proposed the harm of ESD radiation field, the harm of ESD radiation field should not be ignored, it can also damage the hardware and software of the key equipment system, and bring immeasurable consequences. This paper focuses on three aspects: theory?simulation?experiment. Firstly, the paper introducted the basic theory of electrostatic discharge , mathematical representation of electrostatic discharge current, lumped parameter model of the real test platform for electrostatic discharge and electrostatic discharge pulsed electromagnetic field model in detail, and analyzed the feature parameter, corresponding international standard verification method?the characteristics of each key step of electrostatic discharge radiation from generation to coupling. It establishes the theoretical foundation for the coupling experiment of ESD pulse electromagnetic radiation space excitation and response comparison test and pulse electromagnetic radiation. The basic principle of the finite element method is introduced detailedly in this paper at aspect of simulation, and then use the HFSS combined with MATLAB tool which base on finite element to model ESD generator and common electronic devices, and simulate the transient current and transient field of ESD. The coupling path between electrostatic discharge and electronic system is analyzed theoretically in this paper; In experiment, I use the GTEM chamber instead of the usual direct electrostatic discharge immunity test platform because the GTEM chamber is used as the transmission line to reduce the noise interference in the experiment in this way, and the pulsed electromagnetic field intensity of GTEM core plate is more uniform and linear; Then, the paper give the standard transmission line model, and the electromagnetic irradiation test is designed according to the model, and imitate the coupling voltage when the internal module of the system was irradiated by the pulsed electromagnetic field; I also analyzed the influence of different conditions on the coupling voltage; Finally, making some proper treatment according to the treatment method of electrostatic discharge radiation to solve electromagnetic compatibility problems of practical electronic product and pass the national electromagnetic compatibility electrostatic discharge immunity standard test with reaching results.
