Yellow lasers have many important applications in biomedical area,such as fluorescence microscopy imaging,flow cytometry,laser photocoagulation and so on.In recent years,all-solid-state yellow lasers pumped by laser diode are developing rapidly.All-solid-state yellow lasers with high stability,high efficiency and high beam quality are the research interest in laser field.At present,all-solid-state yellow lasers are facing a serious problem:the most of yellow lasers are mainly realized by the nonlinear frequency conversion of infrared laser,which results in low power stability and low beam quality caused by fundamental frequency laser mode competition in this process.Besides,the complexity of the system causes the bigger size of the laser directly,which seriously influences the reliability of the laser.The existing lasers are difficult to meet the requirements in practical application.In this article,a one-step method is proposed.A miniature yellow laser with high-stability and high-brightness is accomplished by pumping the dysprosium doped laser crystal with laser diode.This study works as follows:Theoretically:To explore a method of realizing a miniature and highly stable all-solid-state yellow laser.The yellow laser could be obtained directly based on the energy transition 4Fg/2?6H13/2 pumped with laser diode according to the special energy structure of dysprosium doped laser crystal without nonlinear frequency conversion.The instability of all-solid-state yellow laser can be solved fundamentally.Experimentally:First of all,the optical performances of Dy:YAG crystal,Dy:YAG ceramic and Dy:BSO crystal were compared and analyzed.Secondly,a cavity insensitive to the thermal-lens effect is designed and the mode-matching between the pump mode and the oscillating mode is optimized.Finally,on the basis of the study on the mechanism of yellow laser generation and the numerical simulation,an all-solid-state Dy:YAG crystal laser at 582.7 nm is demonstrated for the first time in the domestic.
