Nowadays,technologies of electronic and information warfare are in rapid development.Much attention has been given to low-RCS antenna technologies,considering its contribution to the reduction of metallic object's radar cross section(RCS).These low-RCS technologies can be used to avoid the detection of radar system from enemy,so as to improve fighting capacity and viability of our military targets.This paper includes some characteristic analysis of the influences on low-RCS technology under some special conditions.Such as circular polarization antenna,reconfigurable antenna,and scattering field of low grazing-angle incident wave.Aiming at the existing limitations of published research,some in-depth researches about low-RCS and high-performance antenna technology have been done and concluded in this paper.The main novelties can be summarized as follows.1.A novel partially reflecting and absorbing surface(PRAS)structure is proposed.It is designed for linear polarization antenna and circle antenna respectively.And some results about their application for both patch antenna element and small antenna array are given.The integrated PRAS antenna achieves both in-band and out-of-band reduction of the RCS.Furthermore,the gain of PRAS antenna is improved.Equivalent circuit model of PRAS antenna are given to help understanding its working theory.Results show that the gain enhancement of linear polarization antenna element up to 4.5 dB among the working frequency,and its RCS is reduced in a broad frequency range from 5 GHz to 13 GHz.Compared with the patch antenna,25 dB in-band RCS reduction and 15 dB out-of-band RCS reduction are achieved.The measured results demonstrate a good and stable performance.Moreover,the PRAS structures were verified on a 2×2 linear polarization patch antenna array,and a 2x2 circle polarization patch antenna array.Simulation results show a remarkable performance for RCS reduction both in-band and out-of-band.And the radiation performances of antenna are well maintained.One paper based on these work is presently being given consideration for publication in the IEEE Antennas and Wireless Propagation Letters.2.A miniaturization research based on polarization-dependent AMC and its application for microstrip antenna.Compared with the reference AMC element,the proposed element achieves 50%size reduction.The electric size of one proposed element is as small as 0.09?0 ×0.09?0.It can be used for RCS reduction of microstrip antenna.For this purpose,chessboard configuration is structured with the orthogonal array of proposed elements.The performance of broadband RCS reduction and antenna radiation are well maintained.These works has been published in 2016 International Symposium on Antenna and Propagation.
