Since the 21 st century, with the rapid growing of domestic economy and technology, people's living standard has been improved remarkably. At the same time the demand for investment on precious metals and jade jewelry grows significantly, thereby increasing the workload of the department in charge of quality inspection. Therefore, conventional management in manual mode by department not able to adapt with the growing tends. To solve the problem, this project establishes a precious metal and jade jewelry inspection management system in Guizhou province for the first time.This article starts from understanding the actual demand of Guizhou province product quality supervision and Inspection Institute(hereinafter referred to as the QSII), followed by the study of the existing domestic and foreign inspection management system, proposing a new management system for the precious metals and jade jewelry inspection to meet current business needs of QSII. The entire development process of the system is strictly following with the software engineering method by using the UML object-oriented modeling technology and the ROSE tools for analysis and design. In the section of requirement and system analysis, three aspects are carried out: business, function and data. The system use case model is established as well. In the design part, the system is modeled by static structure class diagram, dynamic structure sequence diagram and activity diagram. The database of the system is designed at the end of the section. In the implementation part, the system functional module and the key technology realization method and effect are described in detail. The functional and server load pressure test are conducted after the completion of the system.The paper designs and builds the precious metal and jade jewelry inspection management system by using B/S mode, with SQL Server 2012 database as the backend database, ASP.NET as the development platform for the development and design. In this system, following technologies including workflow, EXTJS and access control are used to achieve the automatic operation of the detection process, improve the operability of the system-user-interface and the security of the system. The achievement and implementation of the system not only meet the QSII of the current business needs, but also design for the growing business development needs in future with reduced error caused by human factors, improved quality and efficiency of sample testing.
