| China has fully adopted QAM(Quadrature Amplitude Modulation) as the signal modulation of the "triple play" project in recent years. There still has been a gap between the domestic 64 QAM signal source and testing equipment and the international ones in terms of accuracy and stability. If different testing equipment is used to test the same QAM signal source at the same time and under the same condition, different results of MER(Modulation Error Ratio) which represents the overall quality of QAM signal are given, with the deviation of about 2dB. Therefore, a set of high precision MER signal source with QAM is needed to be the standard of the evaluation of the domestic complex QAM testing equipment.This paper mainly analyzes the QAM method and establishes the QAM modulation simulation model. It analyzes and simulates the influence of the important parameters of the QAM channel on the MER value. The experimental measurements are carried out respectively and the goodness of fit between the stimulation results and measurement results is good. Reasons for the differences of each group are analyzed and the corresponding relationship between the parameters and the MER value is confirmed.This paper is a preliminary work for the establishment of high precision and wide range of QAM signal source, and ultimately provides the related theoretical and data support.High precision QAM signal source and signal analyzer are also needed in the measurement and detection. A high quality QAM modulator as the front-end transmitter for the radio and television networks is needed in real life. Therefore, it is of great significance to analyze and quantify the parameters which affect the quality of QAM channel. |
