The development of wireless mobile communication technology speeds up the progress ofsociety informatization. It has been changing the way of communication and the lifestyle. In orderto meet the need for the rapid development of wireless mobile communication technology, we haveto construct more accurate channel model for communication systems. On this condition, thecommunication quality of existing communication system can be improved. Meanwhile, itsbusiness model can be enriched. The various parameters of the wireless channel are the basis toestablish a precise and effective channel model. Therefore, the study of the accurate algorithm forwireless channel parameters, which can extract the channel parameters from a large number ofmeasured data, plays a significant role.This thesis makes the study of several algorithms which are frequently used in wirelesschannel parameter extraction technology: MUSIC algorithm, ESPRIT algorithm, EM algorithm andits expansion algorithm SAGE algorithm. Firstly, this thesis is to analyse the characteristics ofwireless channel, several important parameters of wireless channel, and the background for wirelesschannel parameter extraction technology. Secondly, this thesis is to focuse on the MUSIC algorithmESPRIT algorithm, EM algorithm as well as the SAGE algorithm basic principles and applicationenvironment. On the theoretical foundation, this thesis makes the simulation for these algorithms byMATLAB software and analyse the simulation results of each algorithm. From the perspective ofthe propagation environment model, channel detection mode and its basic algorithm, this thesismainly aims to make an indepth study of the SAGE algorithm and analyse the algorithmperformance through the comparisons with MUSIC algorithm and ESPRIT algorithm.
