With the rapid progress of information technology in the modern society,there has been a revolutionary way of education,that is a micro-curriculum.Teachers can extract the parts of key points,difficulties,experimental operation and other knowledge from the textbooks,and individually make a micro-course which is mainly based on the micro-video and guided by the learning cases.Students can independently learn the micro-course before the official class.The author's purpose of this study is to improve students' self-learning ability,as well as promote the improvement of their inquiry ability and the development of good study habits,by sorting out the contents that are suitable for making into microcourses and meet the requirements of students' learning and cognitive rules from the textbook,the Shanghai "Science"(Oxford Edition).The author has been using the literature research method,the questionnaire investigation method,the case study method,the interview method and the experimental method to do teaching research for one year,and has selected two classes in the first grade to carry out the related teaching experiments in the private Junior high school where she teaches.In the control class,the author has used the traditional teaching mode(passive learning)to experiment while in the experimental class,has used the micro-course teaching mode(self-learning).And then the following conclusions are drawn based on the analysis of the data before and after the academic examinations and questionnaires:1.Micro-course teaching can significantly improve students' academic performance in Science course in junior high school.The author has used IBM SPSS Statistics19 software to analyze the students' test scores before and after the teaching experiment,and find that the students in the experimental class have significantly improved their scores compared with the students in the control class after a year of teaching experiment.2.Micro-course teaching has a significant improvement on the students' learning habits,self-learning ability and their exploration ability.Through the observation and questionnaire before and after the test of the teachers,we find that the students in the experimental class have developed a good habit of preview after the teaching experiments,they will take the initiative to explore for the doubts,and clearly know the general process of inquiry,as well as much better at the collection of experimental data in the process of inquiry.While the students in the control class do not change significantly after one year of teaching.3.The effect of micro-course teaching on improving students' interest in Science course is not significant.The innovation points of this study:1.This study was the first one to attempt the micro-course teaching model in the field of education in Shanghai junior high school,and to make a demonstration effect among the Science teachers in Yangpu district.2.During the course of this research,we have made a detailed analysis of the knowledge points suitable for micro-course teaching in the Science textbook of junior middle school and made corresponding micro-courses.At the same time,the research results have been modified according to the corresponding peer opinions and suggestions,and shared among the colleagues in the region.3.In the process of the research,the new micro video production software,such as Camtasia Studio,and the traditional production software,such as PPT,were used to combine to make a number of micro-courses which are suitable for teaching.In addition,IBM SPSS Statistics19 software was used to make scientific and accurate data analysis of corresponding experimental data.The ultimate goal of this study is to promote and implement micro-course teaching,and to share more excellent micro-course achievements with peers.So the research has been continuing.
