Since ancient times,the relationship between knowledge and ability has been a hot topic in the academic circles.In the context of knowledge explosion,improving students' ability is the most important goal of education and teaching.The transformation of knowledge into ability,there are two processes of nature and consciousness,but knowledge is naturally converted into the degree of ability is particularly limited.Knowledge has the ability,different types of knowledge contains different abilities,we must use effective teaching methods,the greatest degree of knowledge to ability transformation.English knowledge is divided into phonetic knowledge,vocabulary knowledge,grammar knowledge and background cultural knowledge,English reading ability also contains understanding ability,forecasting ability,inference ability,analysis ability and other ability.Psychologist Anderson divides general knowledge into factual knowledge,conceptual knowledge,procedural knowledge and introspection knowledge.The iceberg model of English knowledge is constructed by combining English knowledge classification,Anderson knowledge classification and Polanyi's silence knowledge.It is suggested that English subjects have the dual attributes of instrumentality and humanity.For Chinese students reading is the main way to learn English.Not only in the examination of English reading problems occupy a large proportion,and reading also help to develop students' vision.In the real English teaching process,there is a phenomenon that "knowledge can be weak".This study is mainly from this issue,based on the theory of knowledge with the ability to explore the effective teaching of English reading in junior high school,to maximize the ability of English knowledge.The article first combs the reference of English knowledge and reading ability,mainly from the aspects of phonetic knowledge,lexical knowledge,grammar knowledge,background cultural knowledge and the relationship between the four aspects of knowledge and English reading.And summarizes the achievements and shortcomings of relevant research.And then clear the study of ideas,and according to the need to use the literature analysis,observation and interviews and other research methods.Secondly,this article builds and writes the article based on the ability of knowledgein one aspect of "knowledge of nuclear force".Firstly pursuit its theoretical origin before discussing this theory.On this basis,the concepts of knowledge,English knowledge,reading,English reading,ability and English reading ability are defined.Thirdly,the English knowledge and reading ability are classified,and the iceberg model of English knowledge is constructed by combining the English subject,Anderson knowledge classification and Polanyi's silence knowledge.The two-dimensional classification of English knowledge was integrated.The English reading ability was summed up by combining the curriculum standard,the middle school examination outline and the interviews with middle school English teachers.Then,on the basis of discussing the relationship between knowledge and the general meaning of ability,this paper discusses the competence of different types of English knowledge.After that,combining the realistic classroom observation of two public junior middle schools in Xi'an and Shandong Province,and interviewing a number of experienced English teachers and students,we find out the practical problems of realistic English teaching in cultivating students' reading ability.Different types of knowledge teaching and the whole teaching of reading.The causes of the development of reading ability in English teaching are analyzed and analyzed from two aspects:concept and practice.Finally,according to the existing problems in English teaching,this paper constructs the effective teaching strategies of English reading based on the theory of the ability of knowledge.In the process of strategy construction,it is mainly carried out from the two aspects of teachers' teaching concept change and teaching practice.According to different types of English knowledge contains the ability to read,put forward different effective teaching methods,and finally put forward the overall reading of effective teaching methods to promote the greatest degree of English knowledge to the reading ability.
